Revised 7 August, 2002

GLOBALTEL DIALERS are available for
Individuals, corporate, business and government offices. Any customer
making international calls on a regular basis will reduce telephone
bills by using a DIALER.
WHAT IS A TELECOM DIALER?
A typical Automatic dialer is a small computerized telecom switch
connected between your incoming telephone lines and your telephones.
SINGLE LINE dialers are a few inches square and weigh less than one
pound. Multiple line dialers are about the size of a laptop computer and
weigh several pounds.
WHY USE DIALERS?
1) Avoids dialing wrong numbers 2) Speeds up the dialing process 3)
Enables you to use GlobalTel's low international rates 4) Reduces your
phone bill by as much as 70%
WHERE CAN ONE GET A GLOBALTEL TELECOM DIALER?
Contact GlobalTel for complete details, recommendations and a purchase
plan specifically for you.
WHAT DO DIALERS COST?
The costs of installing a dialer can be recovered as soon as one or
two months, depending on the volume of international calls made each
month. A single line dialer cost approximately $50. A multiple line
dialer may cost as much as $1,200, depending on the number of lines.
GlobalTel has a variety of finance and lease plans to suit the needs of
every customer. GlobalTel will get some basic information
from you and then offer and recommend a DIALER and a purchase or lease
plan for you.
GLOBALEL DOES NOT SEEK TO MAKE MONEY ON DIALERS,
we are in the telecom business, not the dialer business. We are
interested that customers use dialers to increase calling volume, so we
sell dialers at cost or less than cost.
ARE DIALERS EASY TO USE?
Yes, this is one of the advantages of using a dialer. GLOBALTEL uses a
dialer for all its long distance calls. Employees just dial
"7" to get a line outside the office. We then dial the number
of the party we wish to speak to.
With GLOBALTEL's LOW RATES and a GLOBALTEL
AUTOMATIC DIALER, every employee in your office will make all
international calls using GLOBALTEL's Telecom system; you will enjoy
maximum savings.
WHERE CAN I SEE A PICTURE OF THESE DIALERS?
GlobalTel uses IMMIX DIALERS, and you can see them at the IMMIX
website: www.immixtel.com.
Call GlobalTel's Engineering department for information specific to your
needs.
DOES GLOBALTEL WORK WITH OTHER BRANDS OF DIALERS?
GlobalTel's Engineers require that dialers must be programmable and
offer multiple functions so that they can be programmed to be specific
to the needs of the customer. All dialers must also be capable of
interfacing with the Internet.

Some basic information for using dialers with a PBX
The information with respect to timing of trigger
and callback can be determined by manually triggering a call at the
site and recording the timing parameters yourself. Normally, the
method used for dialers doing call back is one DID (callback access
number) for each channel shown on the bottom of the inbound hunt group
of channels designated for the facility by the central office. The
most important information for dialer installations is determining how
the existing system hunts for inbound and outbound channels.
There are many methods implementing the dialer
by use of dialing plans or simple activation digits. We like to direct
the subscribers to the dialer by dialing a special number like 7 or 8
to get an outside line from the the dialer. Typically, in an office
environment, 9 is dialed from the extension side of the PBX to get an
standard outside line. Additionally, a subscriber can dial 7 or 8 to
get a line from the dialer which would require programming the PBX.
Ideally, the dialer used for call back should control channels that
are not part of the a hunt group.
For example, if the system is configured for
a subscriber to dial 7 to get use of the dialer, the subscriber would
dial 7 and get dial tone from the dialer then dial the international
call. The dialer would grab an outside channel split the line and
trigger the callback while holding the line open to the subscriber
that is is dialing the destination number. When the call back arrives,
the line between the subscriber and PSTN gets connected and the
destination number gets sent to the switch that sent the call back.
All of this happens while the subscriber is off-hook.
The GlobalTel switch likes to have a # sent after
dialing the destination number and when the subscriber goes off
hook the dialer should send a ## to the switch for disconnection. The
dialer should ring the switch and hang up after detecting the first
ring.
