Hotel Surcharges
on calls made using Direct Dial Service!!!

GLOBALTEL CUSTOMERS WHO TRAVEL AND USE GLOBALTEL'S 800
DIRECT DIAL SERVICES should be aware that some hotels place surcharges on telephone calls
made by their guests. Some of these surcharges can be very high.
GLOBALTEL WILL NOT BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HOTEL SURCHARGES ON ANY OF IT'S SERVICES.
Not all hotels have surcharges on telephone calls made
by their guests, and it is not a big problem, but we have had notice from customers in
some parts of China about hotel surcharges. We have had one complaint from a customer
traveling in France.
HOW DO YOU AVOID HOTEL SURCHARGES?
 | Inquire about telephone surcharges before you make your reservations.
FIND A HOTEL THAT DOES NOT HAVE SURCHARGES. |
 | USE GLOBALTEL CALLBACK service. Callback services are not surcharges
since you do not make any outgoing calls from the hotel. The CALLBACK to you, in your
hotel room, is an INCOMING CALL. See the CALLBACK BROCHURE for more information on this. |
 | MAKE YOUR CALLS FROM A PUBLIC PHONE IN THE HOTEL LOBBY. Do not use Direct
Dial service from your room. |
Direct Dialing from a hotel can be detected by and
charged by the hotel's computers as an OUTGOING CALL. If the customer uses CALLBACK, all
calls are INCOMING CALLS and there is no charge or surcharge. The surcharges are only on
OUTGOING CALLS USING DIRECT DIALING.
HOTELS ARE PRIVATE BUSINESSES. Hotel managers are not
prohibited form placing surcharges on telephone calls made by their guests. Neither
GLOBALTEL nor, any local PTT (Telephone company) has control over the charges a hotel
makes to its guests for hotel services. |
